Cherry Blossoms

In Japan April is the start of new.

It represents the start of a new school year. The start of a new fiscal year for companies. For many people in Japan, it means a new beginning. A big change in their lives.

During this time, many cities of Japan are covered in pink as the cherry blossoms come in full bloom. Coinciding with spring cherry blossoms are a symbol of a new start.

Yet, the full bloom ends in just two weeks. The cherry blossom petals dance. From the trees like pink snowflakes through the wind gracefully embracing gravity. Signaling the end of a beginning.

For me, cherry blossoms have always served as a reminder.

That life is short.

Am I living it beautiFULLY?
